Inter Milan and PSG set for epic Champions League final

One game, 90-odd minutes, after which a champion will be crowned. Will PSG claim their first European title or can Inter Milan become champions of Europe for a fourth time. All of this will be decided on Saturday, May 31, 2025.

Event # 1 – UEFA CHL FINAL – PSG vs Inter Milan – 2:00PM

French league winner PSG take on three-time European champions Inter Milan of Italy in one of the biggest matches in club football, the UEFA Champions League final. Indeed, for PSG, this is their second Champions League final in five years, in an attempt to secure the first European title in the club’s history. With that said, the French giants, PSG, are chasing a treble to end their 2024/25 campaign in style, having already won their record-extending 13th Ligue 1 crown, with six matches to go, then completing an easy 3-0 win over Reims in the Coupe de France final last weekend. The French fans have almost felt cursed over recent years when it comes to their Champions League ambition, never managing to get over the line, despite the riches that they have dished out on star-studded teams featuring the likes of Lionel Messi, Neymar, and Kylian Mbappe, among others. It now seems somewhat ironic, therefore, that surely their best-ever chance of finally lifting the coveted trophy comes as part of a new strategy aimed at decreasing their reliance on superstars and prioritising younger players.

Inter Milan will enter this final seeking a fourth European crown after getting by favourites Barcelona in a seven-goal thriller at the San Siro, with a dramatic extra time winner. This after both teams had played out a stunning 3-3 draw in the first leg in Spain, in what will go down as one of the all-time great Champions League semi-finals ties in history. With that said, Inter Milan are in the final for the seventh time in their illustrious history, having won three and lost three, last winning the trophy in 2010 under legendary coach Jose Mourinho, and losing on their last appearance to Manchester City in Istanbul in 2023. Domestically, Inter Milan relinquished their Serie A title to Napoli by a single point on the final day of the season, having also lost in the semi-final of the Coppa Italia and in the Supercoppa Italiana, both losses against city rivals, AC Milan. So they will be desperate to get it right on the biggest occasion and win a fourth European title, having beaten some of Europe’s biggest giants along the way to the final, including Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Barcelona in the knockout stages.

Key Stats

• PSG – PSG are bidding to win their first-ever European crown; this is their second time in the final.

• Inter Milan – Inter Milan are unbeaten in their last six overall matches and have scored 13 goals in their last six matches.

• Both sides – Inter Milan have scored at least one goal in six consecutive matches, while PSG have scored at least one goal in 17 consecutive matches.

The betting tip: Inter Milan win & GG.
