Cannonball Café continues to be one of my picks when I need a quick but satisfying midday meal. Tucked inside Kingston’s buzzing culinary map, this café delivers a reliable combo of freshness, flavour, and flair.

While the breakfast menu is full of tempting options (don’t sleep on the omelette specials), I’m usually here for lunch — and more specifically, the powerhouse salad. A hearty bowl of mixed greens, feta cheese, nuts, cucumbers, tomatoes, and sweet diced apples, it’s exactly what I need when I want something clean yet filling. The real power move, however, is pairing it with one of Cannonball’s all-natural, home-made juices. My go-to? The mango ginger — a vibrant, zesty blend that refreshes and energises in one sip.

The vibe here is relaxed, the service is always warm, and the menu is diverse enough to cater to everyone, from light eaters to those craving something more indulgent (hello, oxtail pot pie or steak and Guinness pot pie!). Whether you’re dropping in between meetings, for a meeting or catching up with a friend, Cannonball hits the spot.
