Page 2 returns to the Windrush Garden at the British High Commission, where copious toasts were raised Tuesday last on the occasion of His Majesty King Charles III’s official birthday celebration. With wishes for His Majesty’s good health, British High Commissioner to Jamaica Judith Slater took the opportunity to acknowledge the invaluable partners instrumental in strengthening the robust relationship between Jamaica and the United Kingdom (UK).
“I want to take this opportunity to thank the Government of Jamaica and all our other partners and collaborators, without whom none of these achievements would be possible. What is also certain, is that the UK remains committed to nurturing and strengthening our deep, broad and strong ties to Jamaica, and to helping you navigate the strong headwinds you are facing,” Slater said.
Minister of Justice Delroy Chuck echoed similar sentiments, underscoring the enduring strength of both countries’ diplomatic ties and also warmly recognising His Majesty’s impactful leadership since his ascension in 2022.
“In a world embroiled with conflict and division, His Majesty has been a steadfast voice of wisdom and reason, leading with strength and conviction,” Chuck said. “The UK remains one of Jamaica’s strongest bilateral partners, consistently contributing to the advancement of our development objectives.”
Adding to the evening’s sparkle, three lucky guests won trips to the UK courtesy of British Airways and Virgin Atlantic.
