JAMP invites CSOs to apply for funding for projects
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Jamaica Accountability Meter Portal (JAMP) has published a Call for Proposals offering financing to eligible civil society organisations (CSOs) for projects that strengthen public financial management and accountability in Jamaica.
The funding initiative, titled “Strengthening Jamaican CSOs for Effective Policy Engagement in Public Financial Management and Accountability”, is fully funded by the European Union (EU) umbrella project “Civil Society Organisations as Actors of Governance and Development in Jamaica”.
CSOs can apply to JAMP for financing to implement five-month projects focusing on any of the themes of budget oversight, public procurement monitoring, parliamentary accountability, citizen engagement, participatory budgeting and thematic budget analysis, including gender, youth, elderly, and disability perspectives.
“This is a great opportunity for civil society organisations to implement work that will enable citizens to require better performance from government and public servants,” said Jeanette Calder, executive director of JAMP.
“By strengthening CSO capacity in public financial management oversight, we’re building the foundation for improved governance and accountability in Jamaica, which will ultimately help to improve lives for all Jamaicans. When citizens are empowered with the right tools and knowledge, they can demand the transparency and accountability that our democracy requires,” Calder explained.
To be eligible, CSOs must be legally registered not-for-profit organisations active for over three years with properly constituted boards.
JAMP will host an information session via Zoom on Thursday, June 19, 2025 at 2:00 pm to provide interested organisations with more information.
Organisations interested in attending the information session should email jamp@jampja.org.
The deadline to submit application proposals is Friday, July 11, 2025 at 4:00 pm. The complete application package is available at https://bit.ly/JAMPCALL.
