Peter-John Parsard full of praise for Woman in Love
Trainer Peter-John Parsard was full of praise for his promising filly Woman in Love after she broke her maiden following her victory at Caymanas Park last Saturday, describing her performance as an important step forward and a glimpse of even greater potential.
Ridden by champion jockey Raddesh Roman, Woman In Love won at odds at 3/5 by 3 3/4 lengths over 5 1/2 furlongs.
Parsard said he was very impressed with how Woman in Love handled herself and believes that there is much more left in her tank.
“She did the most important thing, which is to get the job done, and we are glad for the win,” Parsard noted. “We think she has a lot more ability than what she has been showing on race days so far, including today. We think she has a little more in her legs.”
The trainer expressed optimism that this latest performance could be a turning point for the filly, who has shown good promise in training but has not always replicated that form on race days.
“She has always been training well from foundation,” Parsard stated. “She has been training very well, but she hasn’t put it together on race days. So finally, she got the win, and hopefully, she can come close to her full potential soon.”
Looking ahead, Parasard underscored Woman in Love could be heading for bigger things. “The hope is that after the strength of this win, she will be able to progress and become a horse that can do some good things later down in the year. She will definitely go places in her career.”
Parsard also had high praise for the jockey, crediting his experience and skill for the well-executed ride. “The jockey did a fantastic job because he is a very good rider and he did exactly what he was supposed to do. When you have jockeys like that, you don’t give them any instructions, there was only one instruction, which was to win, and he went out and he got the job done.
