Reggae Sumfest’s Family Fun Day 2025 big on impact
Reggae Sumfest returns with its high-impact Family Fun Day at Catherine Hall Stadium in St James on Sunday, July 13.
Promising a vibrant celebration infused with philanthropy, entertainment, and unbreakable community spirit, organisers say admission is free for everyone before 12 noon, giving families even more reason to come out early and enjoy the festivities.
Beyond entertainment, the event, renowned for its interactive booths and family-oriented experiences, will again offer a range of giveaways and free health checks, as it seeks to expand its reach and deepen its impact in the Montego Bay community.
The 2025 entertainment package will feature the return of popular media personality Trippple X as emcee, with music provided by DJ Collision, DJ Lollipop, and Di Unit. In addition, the event will showcase live performances from some of Jamaica’s hottest emerging and established entertainers.
Lead healthcare partner Hospiten will return with a robust offering, including dental and pediatric care.
“In 2025, we intend to go even bigger. We’ve expanded our space and we’re expanding the number of free medical consultations, adding interactive health education stations, and increasing our dental and paediatric capacity. We want every family that walks into our tent to feel like they received world-class care with a personal touch,” said Shaniin Morales-Lewin, Hospiten’s commercial director.
“In addition to our free back-to-school medicals, we’ll be offering wellness giveaways, health screenings, and on-site consultations with our specialists for the entire family. We’re also bringing more educational resources to empower parents and children to prioritise health year-round,” she continued.
Morales-Lewin emphasised that community is the true heartbeat of Reggae Sumfest and that Hospiten is proud to continue its partnership with the festival in support of Montego Bay’s development.
“Montego Bay is our home, and partnerships like these allow us to show up for our community in meaningful ways. Reggae Sumfest has cultural and emotional significance for the city, and we’re honoured to be part of its legacy by contributing to the well-being of the people who make it so vibrant,” she said.
A staple on the festival’s calendar, last year’s staging drew hundreds to the venue, even as persistent showers fell throughout the day. Organisers say 2025 will raise the bar even higher, solidifying Family Fun Day as a must-attend event for families across western Jamaica.
“If last year taught us anything, it’s that the spirit of our Sumfest fans is unstoppable. Rain or shine, people showed up in numbers. This year, we’ve already seen increased interest and engagement, so we’re expecting a larger turnout and an even more vibrant atmosphere,” said Danielia McLean, Reggae Sumfest’s sponsorship liaison.
“It’s an inclusive space where everyone, regardless of age, can feel welcome. Patrons know they’re coming to a safe, fun, and exciting environment where their children can play, families can bond, and the spirit of Sumfest truly comes alive. It’s that consistency and warmth that keep people coming back year after year,” she said.
After midday, entry will be $1,500 for children 13 and under and $1,000 for adults.
