Howard Cooke’s Graham claims double on Western Primary Champs first day
MONTEGO BAY, St James — Howard Cooke Primary’s Xaria Graham was a double winner on Friday’s first day of the Western Primary Athletics Championships at Herbert Morrison Technical.
Graham won the Class 5 Girls’ long jump and the 800m Open to contribute 18 of her school’s 28 points earned.
Howard Cooke ended the rain-affected day second on the points table behind Barracks Road Primary (33 points) after 36 finals.
Short showers interrupted the proceedings before a heavier shower late in the day caused a premature end with another three finals scheduled to be completed.
