PFJL, Foska Oats extend corporate partnership
The Professional Football Jamaica Limited (PFJL) and Chas E Ramson, through its brand Foska Oats, have renewed their partnership worth $24 million in cash and kind for the next two years.
Foska Oats, which has been on board for the last six years, will extend its association with Jamaica Premier League champions Cavalier and Chas E Ramson’s Managing Director Christopher Ramson said they are lucky to have their brand be etched on the jerseys of the champions.
“We’ve been fortunate. Cavalier has done very well for the last couple of seasons and I’ve seen tremendous growth in the players over the years,” Ramson noted.
“We’re happy to come on board. We have pledged a total of $24 million over the next two years that we are gonna put into this partnership and see how we continue to grow.
“We’ve enjoyed it. It’s been a good partnership. As you know, Foska is all about living a healthy and active lifestyle. So, we have focused on supporting the growth of our nation through sports,” he said.
PFJL has said that over the last five years it has garnered over $1 billion worth of sponsorships from corporate Jamaica. And despite the PFJL Chairman Christopher Williams is stepping down, Ramson said the foundation has been set for continued partnerships.
“Currently, we’ve seen tremendous strides being made in the Premier League with the administration and the exposure that they’re giving sponsors, which exposes what gets you the sponsors on board and what drives the cash to make the whole thing function,” said Ramson.
Owen Hill, the chief executive officer of PFJL, praised Chas E Ramson for its continued support of football.
“It’s a wonderful time in the life of Professional Football Jamaica, the Jamaica Premier League, and then by extension our partners, Chas E Ramsons, as you know them, more specifically, Foska,” Hill pointed out.
“We’re excited about the possibility of the future. We’ve been having discussions and what we know for sure is that our partner, Chas, would have made their commitment,” he added.
“Over the years, they’ve continued to help the development and growth of football in Jamaica at the grassroots level, at the junior level, and at the senior level. They’ve been a partner with Professional Football for the last six years and they’ve continued to show their commitment in the form of cash and kind,” Hill pointed out.
“Foska Oats is a staple within the landscape of sports in Jamaica. So, it came as no surprise when they decided to re-engage, and they want to ensure that they continue the growth and the development. So, we’re here this morning to actually continue that partnership,” he reiterated.
“So, on behalf of the management, the board of directors, and the federation, I just want to thank Foska for showing their recommitment again via way of partnership, and we hope that we will give them the continued exposure and commercial mileage that is required to also continue these partnership,” he noted.
