KINGSTON, Jamaica — Dancehall newcomer Kelly KK says she is not bothered by the online controversy surrounding her latest song, 3 Sum, a collaboration with Polo hitmaker, Hot Frass.

The recently released song is accompanied by a raunchy music video, which was directed by Knemesis and shot in Canada.

“I’ve always fantasised about something like this and I finally got to write and record a song about it. On social media, you have the positive reactions and the negative reactions; however, the positive comments far outweigh the negatives,” Kelly KK told Observer Online on Sunday.

She spoke about working with dancehall artiste Hot Frass on the track, which she says has been attracting new fans to her social media platforms.

“Working with Hot Frass, it was very vibrant. He lights up the room and gives off that good energy and a good spirit, plus he has a lot of drive to get things done,” Kelly KK explained.

According to Kelly KK, the sexually charged collaboration, which was produced by Wild Out Records, has the potential to become a hit.

“Di song have a buzz for many reasons. First of all, the beat is infectious, which made me feel inclined to talk di tings dem wheh people want fi hear. I think my vibe blends well with Hot Frass on the track and so far, the fans are loving it so I feel very optimistic about the chance of it becoming a chart topper,” she reasoned.

Born Youquie Williams, Kelly KK is originally from Oliver River, Hill 60 in Trelawny. However, she presently resides in Canada. She describes her style as an authentic dancehall artiste with a sultry undertone.

“A lot of producers and industry players have been reaching out wanting to work with me, so I am very excited about my prospects for the near future. I am also working hard at my craft daily because I am my biggest critic. All in all, I am enjoying the process,” she said.

Kelly KK began listening to music from an early age, enjoying the work of Sean Paul, Vybz Kartel, Akon, Rihanna and Adele, to name a few.

“Music is our everyday life. As a baby, we grew up listening to jingle bells and it became part of my growth.   I bring a variety of differences in my craft, authentic sound and energy. My main goal is to gain a large audience because they are my source of winning,” Kelly KK added.
