Car crashes into Black River hospital A&E, no reports of injuries
ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica — A car crashed into the Black River Hospital in St Elizabeth on Wednesday morning, disrupting its Accident and Emergency Department.
Chief Executive Officer at the Black River Hospital, Diana Brown Miller, confirmed that no one was injured during the incident, which damaged the door leading to the department.
Preliminary reports are that about 1:00 am the driver of a Toyota Allion motorcar drove onto the hospital compound and lost control of the vehicle when it crashed through the door of the Accident and Emergency Department before stopping inside the seating area.
Police were called and the vehicle was removed. Normal operations have since resumed at the hospital.
