Brunch ‘N’ Play toasts fathers
Paula Pinnock, organiser Brunch ‘N’ Play: Father’s Day edition, lauded the resounding success of Sunday’s staging.
Held at Hope Gardens in St Andrew, the event was geared towards nurturing togetherness with families and friends to celebrate dads and father figures.
“The highlight was definitely seeing families — especially dads and their kids — bonding through play. From the 5v5 football tournament that featured A-Team lead by Ian “Pepe” Goodison, who won the tournament; to the spirited domino matches, there was laughter, competition, and joy all-round. The energy was amazing, the kids had fun, the moms relaxed, and the dads felt appreciated. It definitely reminded us why we do what we do,” Pinnock told the Jamaica Observer.
As much as Pinnock and the sponsors enjoyed the day’s festivities, patrons, too, had a great time.
“The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Many patrons commented on the great vibes. The football tournament was the biggest highlight of the day for the dads, the kids had the time of their lives on all the rides at Funland, and JPS ensured that everyone could relax in their lounges and a full service massage area. Add great food to that, Calico Jack smoothies, and it was the perfect day. A lot of dads said they felt appreciated, and that was our main goal. Everyone enjoyed the mix of competition and relaxation,” the organiser explained.
Music was provided by DJ Bunpan who brought more vibes throughout the day.
Brunch ‘N’ Play was previously held on Mother’s Day, but in this second Father’s Day edition, Pinnock emphasised the importance of sponsorship to make it possible.
Pinnock further noted that she anticipates more successful stagings and is open to teaming up with other brands.
“We’re always open to collaboration. Brands or individuals interested in sponsoring future editions of Brunch N Play, or supporting the Youth Football League, can reach out to us…” she said.
