Miss Universe Jamaica finalists head to Princess Hotel for Euphoria Weekend

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Since they were sashed and presented to the public for the first time more than a month ago, the 30 finalists in the 2025 Hyundai Miss Universe Jamaica beauty pageant have been undergoing a weekly training schedule, making courtesy calls and participating in several events on the entertainment scene.

Ahead of the grand coronation, which takes place on August 9 at the AC Hotel in Kingston, the contestants are soaking in as much information, while preparing themselves both mentally and physically.

They recently underwent training at the Fit Farm gym, where they learnt about fitness and self-defense among other important details.

Mark McDermoth, national director of the Miss Universe Jamaica Organisation, told Observer Online that things have been progressing well.

“The training and the preparation for the contestants has been going marvelously!!  This year we embarked on our MUJ 2025 Contestant Training Academy to ensure that the ladies were more well-rounded, so, in addition to the regular, stage presentation and runway training with Mr Karl Williams, voice and speech with Mr Adrian Atkinson, the Q & A sessions/interview techniques sessions with yours truly, exposing the contestants to past title winners giving them their personal experiences at Miss Universe and tips to navigate the international pageant as well as the other regular training sessions, we’ve added components such as Storytelling with Dr Amina Blackwood-Meeks, Movement and Dance with Mr Marlon Simms Director of NDTC and lecturer at the Edna Manley College and Theatre Arts with the incomparable Ms Fae Ellington – all in a move to help the emerging title winner be more expressive, colourful and dynamic when she hits that Miss Universe stage in November,” said McDermoth.

The Miss Universe Jamaica Organisation has teamed up with Princess Hotels and Resorts to stage the Euphoria Weekend, an exciting four day luxury experience, which will take place from June 26-29 at Princess Jamaica in Green Island.

“This will feature world-class DJs, Miss Universe Jamaica contestants, and exclusive experiences. The event celebrates beauty, fashion, wellness, culture, and music in a fabulous, upscale Caribbean setting.  The reigning Miss Universe Jamaica titleholder, Rachel Silvera, the thirty contestants in this year’s pageant, alongside international personalities DJ Kiss, DJ Spinderwlla, DJ D-Nice, DJ M.O.S., other local musicians and DJs and so much fun and excitement against the backdrop of the brand new and fabulous Princess Hotel,” McDermoth shared.

He added, “We will be executing a few of our contestant challenges at the resort, including swimsuit and evening gown parades, where the contestants will be judged by a panel as part of the preliminary selection process and so we invite all the fans to make their bookings for the weekend and come see the contestants in action and cheer on their favorites.”

Members of the public who want to catch the action can visit Princess-hotels.com and use the code MUJ2025 to unlock your exclusive features and be a part of the exciting weekend.
