Legacy Isle eases away with SVL Anniversary Trophy
LEGACY Isle, ridden by champion jockey Raddesh Roman, barely broke a sweat in cruising to an effortless victory in the Supreme Ventures Limited (SVL) 24th Anniversary Trophy over five and half furlongs at Caymanas Park on Saturday. The American-bred Legacy Isle, who is trained by Rohan Crichton, won by nine and quarter lengths in a time of 1:06.0.
Legacy Isle, who went off at odds of 3-5, recorded splits of 23.1, 46.4 over the distance.
Roman said he was happy with the performance.
“This horse is a very good horse, and he is getting over his issues day by day, and so he is one of the best horses in the country.
“The instruction was to get a clean break and just ride a good race — and he ran much better from the last time that I won on him,” Roman said.
The victory was Roman’s second on the nine-race card, after he earlier won abroad Emperorofthecats in the fourth event.
Legacy Isle, who broke sharply from gate four, led from gate to wire to complete the dominant win.
Fearless Soul was second, while third went to Chocomo.
Lockdown, with former champion jockey Wesley Henry, won the co-feature Mr Lover Lover Trophy over nine furlongs and 29 yards. Alive was second in the event while third went to Nuclear Jet. Henry also registered two wins, with his other victory coming in the first event atop Amad Ali.
