Florida-based dancehall artiste Kyle Xpress enjoys iTunes success

KINGSTON, Jamaica—Florida-based dancehall artiste Kyle Xpress is basking in the success of his latest EP, Uprisen.

The project debuted in the top spot on the widely popular iTunes Reggae Chart within weeks of its release. The latter is an accomplishment the singer says he’s pleased with, even as he hopes the EP will make its way onto other coveted charts.

“I’m overjoyed at this success because a lot of hard work went into this project. The success of Uprisen didn’t happen overnight—it came from years of sacrifice, late-night studio sessions, and relentless dedication,” he said. “Reaching #1 wasn’t just a chart milestone; it marked a meaningful step in a journey built on authenticity. I’m humbled. It means the hard work is paying off. Now mi just hungry for more.”

Born Kyle Henry in Waterhouse, Kingston—a community known for its musical legacy—the entertainer is no stranger to the music fraternity. As the son of the late Dathan Henry, a former manager for reggae legend Garnett Silk, the artiste says he feels like he’s fulfilling his earthly purpose with his musical journey. Outlining that he has carved out his path, Kyle Xpress says he is looking forward to adding his page to Jamaica’s rich musical legacy.

“I am fully focused on the journey ahead because this is where I was meant to be. Music is what I was born to do, and I just want to take this bit of success as a drop in the bucket. This is just the beginning. I am going to write my piece of history and add to Jamaica’s global music supremacy,” he said.

Distributed by Top Ranking Music 3335 in collaboration with CodeBlackMuziq, the project benefits from the sonic expertise of notable producers like CJKing Entertainment, Gass Boss Instrumental, Traveli Records, and Disaster Music. According to the entertainer, these collaborations contribute to the EP’s refreshing blend of dancehall grit and contemporary sounds. The Kingston native says he is now aiming to collaborate with more renowned producers as he commences work on new material, even as Uprisen continues to gain momentum.

“The work never ends. The EP is out there making waves, and I’m going to continue marketing that. But I’m also putting in the work on some new songs. I want to keep the flow of music steady because that’s how you build and make your presence felt,” he said. “Consistency is key, so that’s the aim. If I’m going to build a legacy, it’s going to happen through me pushing out as much effort as possible.”
