JN Money Group imparts financial wisdom to Tivoli Gardens FC
The Jamaica National Money Group held a motivational and team-building session with Tivoli Gardens Football Club at its Belmont Road office on Thursday evening, dubbed Full Time Reset.
Cedricka Reid, marketing and sales manager at JN Money Services, told the Jamaica Observer that they are indeed proud sponsors of Tivoli Gardens FC.
Reid welcomed the team, noting that there were some lows and some really good highs but that they made it to the play-offs, highlighting that the company brought the guys together to celebrate their season and show JN’s appreciation.
The session included a motivational speaker who addressed good sportsmanship, plus invaluable advice from JN Money encouraging the players to save and invest wisely.
“[These are the things] that we would have identified this year after we spoke to management and the coach and they said these are things we can bring into their daily lives — and we are all about holistic development,” explained Reid with regards to the thinking behind the evening’s offerings.
“We are making sure they are financially well-rounded gentlemen and [that] they are also showing up in society as such,” she added.
“As part of the sponsorship we support them all the way. For example, all of them have our JN Money cards — that’s the first step into banking,” Reid noted
She continued: “We also help out with their training sessions. We provide them with lunches for the matches and we are at their matches, and anything that they call on us for and we can assist, we are pretty much there. They are our family,” she reiterated.
The club was treated to an evening of insightful financial advice from Kaye Ricketts, JN Bank’s sales and relationship manager for Tivoli and Duke Street.
The motivational speaker was Vassel Reynolds, the winning Manning Cup coach at Kingston College, and he implored the players to be good and humble sportsmen, whether in winning or losing.
“The benefits of sportsmanship are that we can work better in groups, avoid fights, be fair, and learn to accept results,” said Vassell.
He continued: “Good sportsmanship helps in jobs and leadership. Teamwork is very essential in good sportsmanship.”
The club also participated in some team-building games courtesy of MC Celine Obrian, and the players responded well throughout the evening’s activities which involved singing and reciting what they learned from the financial advice.
Tivoli Gardens Head Coach Jerome Waite was also on hand, and he was grateful for the gesture by JN.
“This is something that is good for JN Money to take the time out and put this venture together. From the moment we played that final game I have not seen the players, and seeing all of them now is enjoyable,” said Waite.
“Team building is something that I believe should be done, not only at Tivoli but the wider spectrum as it relates to our football,” said Waite.
