JSE, KSAMC sign MOU for use of Gold Street
KINGSTON, Jamaica —
“Today’s signing of the memorandum of understanding is a long time in coming because it reflects our shared commitment to improving Kingston, especially downtown and it’s about two key institutions working together, tackling the real challenges through partnership and creating safer and cleaner spaces and supporting downtown revitalisation,” said Mayor of Kingston Andrew Swaby.
The MoU will allow the JSE to use the space which borders their property and take responsibility for maintaining it.
Swaby maintained that the MOU is part of a wider effort to clean up, build partnerships and maintain key spaces across the city.
“For us, it’s about curbing illegal dumping, repurposing neglected areas and turning these [into] spaces that reflect the pride and all that and all that care. So this initiative directly ties to our Cleaner Kingston initiative,” Swaby explained.
The MOU was signed at the JSE office in downtown Kingston
