Arnett Gardens target JWPL semi-final spot
ARNETT Gardens could be the third team to secure a place in the semi-finals of the Jamaica Women’s Premier League if they can get maximum points from last-placed Springers United in their second-round game at Granville Community Centre. Kick-off is set for 3:30 this afternoon.
Arnett Gardens are in third place on 35 points and can join runaway leaders Frazsiers Whip (48) and second-placed Cavalier FC (41) in the top four.
Arnett Gardens will start favourites to win after they won the first-round game between the teams 15-0. Arnett Gardens will be facing a team that has conceded 78 goals so far in 15 games. Those numbers include a forfeiture last week against Cavalier.
At Brooks Park, fourth-placed Los Perfectos could help themselves to stay in semi-final contention when they play sixth-place Mile Gully. Los Perfectos defeated Mile Gully 2-1 in their previous meeting. Los Perfectos are on 30 points and could wrap up a semi-final place in next week’s round of matches.
Cavalier could close the gap on leaders Frazsiers Whip when they take on Federal United, a team they defeated 11-2 in the first round.
