KINGSTON, Jamaica- Bryan Levell and Kadrian Goldson, finalists in the men’s 100m on Friday’s second day of the JAAA National Senior Championships along with Christopher Taylor were among the men who advanced to Saturday’s semi-finals of the men’s 200m after the first round earlier in the day.

Levell, the defending champion in the 200m and who had run back to back sub-10.00 seconds times in the 100m before finishing eighth in the final with a disappointing 10.43 seconds, just did enough to advance after placing second in Saturday morning’s first round when he ran 21.25 seconds (-0.7m/s), behind Odaine Crooks’s 20.85 seconds.

Levell will be the favourite to win Sunday’s final after his wind-aided 19.77 seconds at the Racers Grand Prix just weeks ago.

Goldson, who was sixth in the 100m, just over 12 hours earlier, ran 21.05 seconds (-1.2m/s), for second place behind Taylor’s 20.91 seconds (-1.2m/s).

Demar Francis who has the third fastest wind legal time by a Jamaican this year, also made progress with 21.10 seconds (-1.1m/s); he was third in heat seven behind Javari Thomas who ran 20.70 seconds, the best of the round. Michael Campbell was next with 20.97 seconds.
