National Trials 2025: Jarrett runs PB to win Boys Under-20 800m
KINGSTON, Jamaica- Titchfield High’s Shavon Jarrett ran a personal best 1:50.08 seconds to win the Boys Under-20 800 metres on Sunday’s final day of the JAAA National Junior Championships at the national stadium.
Jarrett, the ISSA Champs Class 1 winner, lowered his best from 1:50.32 seconds set in early March.
St Elizabeth Technical’s Kille Reid was second in 1:53.41 seconds, with Rasheed Pryce of Jamaica College third in 1:53.68 seconds.
New Jersey-based Keandre Kelly, a former Carifta Games Under17 champion, won the boys Under18 race in 1:54.99 seconds, beating William Knibb Memorial’s ISSA Champs gold medallist Thywaine Sterling – 1:56.18 seconds and Holmwood Technical’s Tiandre Downer who finished third in 1:56.69 seconds.
Edwin Allen High’s Kevongaye Fowler won the Under18 final, running 2:10.43 seconds, beating the Alphansus Davis pair of Alikay Reynolds- 2:12.88 seconds and Tabbrel Williams-2:14.22 seconds.
