National Trials 2025: William Knibb’s Seymore wins Under-20 200m
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Sanjay Seymore delivered on his promise as he won the Under-20 boys 200m title on Sunday’s final day of the JAAA national junior championships at the National Stadium, running 20.85 seconds (0.0m/s) to win the event.
The ISSA Champs gold medalist, who ran his personal best 20.75 seconds in Saturday’s semi-finals, held off Calabar High’s Junior Gallimore who ran 20.91 seconds for second. Cornwall College’s Zachary Cox was third in 21.35 seconds.
Sabrina Dockery completed the girls under-20 sprint double after she won the 200m in 23.46 seconds (0.5m/s), followed by two athletes from Immaculate Conception- Samoya Brown-23,87 seconds and Shevi-Anne Shim-24.80 seconds. Fatouma Conde of Guinea, a guest runner, crossed the line first in a national record 23.17 seconds.
Camperdown High’s Deequan Maragh won the boys Under-18 final in 21.16 seconds (0.4m/s), beating Kingston College’s Kyle Bodden, who was second in 21.38 seconds, with Holmwood Technical’s Jaydon Collins third with 21.40 seconds.
Alphansus Davis’ Shanika Lindsay overtook William Knibb Memorial’s Daniellia Dixon with 20 metres to go to win the Under-18 girls title in 24.56 seconds (0.3m/s).
Dixon ran a personal best 24.85 seconds for the silver medal with Holmwood Technical’s Shadae Allen third with 25.86 seconds.
