Roman turns in five-star performance
Reigning champion jockey Raddesh Roman was in spectacular form at Caymanas Park as he landed a brilliant five-timer on the 10-race card, including the co-feature event, The Good Prospect Trophy, aboard Woman In Love
on Saturday.
Going off at odds of 2-1, Woman In Love led from gate to wire to win the event by a length and a quarter ahead of Enthusiasm, with former champion Omar Walker, while third went to Cosalivin, with Phillip Parchment in the saddle. Roman’s other winners,
Queen Zan in the first race, Sensational Move in the fifth event, Wayne’s Princess in the eighth, and he closed the show as he put in a workmanlike performance to guide Money Box to victory in the final race of the day. Solace created a mild upset at 6-1 to win the feature Henry George Harrison Sr Memorial Cup over five and a half furlongs. Successful Man finished second while third went to Cherry Blossom.
Former champion jockey Reyan Lewis took home a double on the nine-race card on Saturday. Lewis’s winners were Justin Bigtime in the first event and Roaring Kitty in the sixth.
Apprentice Richie Shakes also rode Blade and Maya to wins in the first and third races, respectively.
