US-based independent music label Synthdicate Music, led by the dynamic duo of Victor ‘DJ Future’ Wells and Jason ‘Firestorm’ Bevans, has unleashed their highly-anticipated third reggae compilation, “Slash and Burn Riddim.”

Following the success of their “High Rise” and “Rankin Skankin” riddims over the past eight years, this new project is poised to captivate reggae aficionados with its heavyweight lineup and innovative sound.

Released on June 19th and now available on all major digital platforms, “Slash and Burn Riddim” is a brilliant fusion of reggae, hip-hop, and trap, creating a fresh and compelling sonic landscape. The compilation features an impressive roster of iconic reggae artistes like Capleton, Luciano, Anthony B, Chuck Fenda, Fantan Mojah, and Turbulence.

Capleton is at his lyrical best with “Only Jah Know,” a powerful anthem where his signature harmonies resonate with a message of divine justice for the downtrodden. The Fireman skillfully burns out Babylon, corruption, and gang violence, offering solace through the understanding of a higher power in dealing with life’s challenges.

Anthony B showcases his singular ability to translate simple emotions into beautifully crafted lyrics on “Special Way.” This ode to his empress emphasises the importance of cherishing a good woman and leaving womanising behind to maintain happiness in a relationship.

On the hard-hitting “No Weapon,” Fantan Mojah channels the spirit of Isaiah 54, powerfully reminding listeners that “no weapon formed against me shall ever prevail.” Fantan’s commanding chant, coupled with the track’s high production values and strong backing vocals, reinforce the message that the strength of Jah provides the wisdom and resilience needed to navigate tough times. As Mojah sings, “Jah Jah give me health and strength and He give me my potion / blessing prayer inna devotion,” listeners are drawn into his conviction.

Other standout songs include Jah Thunder’s “Light It Up,” where the longtime David House member delivers one of his best tracks extolling the virtues of marijuana.
