Shaggy earns his first Billboard Rhythmic Top 40 hit in 9 years

After clocking multiple weeks at #1 on the New York and South Florida Reggae charts a few months ago, Til A Mawnin
by Shaggy, featuring Sting, has debuted at #40 on Billboard’s Rhythmic Top 40 Airplay chart.

This is Shaggy’s first appearance on that chart in nine years. To date, Shaggy has logged 11 entries on the tally, two of which (Angel and
It Wasn’t Me) have topped the chart for three weeks a piece.

Shaggy’s other appearance on the Rhythmic Top 40 chart include Boombastic (#6 in 1995), Luv Mi, Luv Mi (#22 in September 1998),
That Girl with Maxi Priest (#16 in July 1996), Hey Sexy Lady with Brian and Tony Gold (#33 in October 2002), I Need Your Love (with Mohombi, Faydee and Costi – #36 in 2025), Freaking Girl (with The Kraft which peaked at #35 in May 2001), and Dance and Shout (stalled at #40 in 2000).

The last time that Shaggy appeared on the chart was in July 2016, when Red One’s collaborative effort Don’t You Need Somebody, featuring Shaggy, Enrique Iglesias, R City, and Serayah, rose to #37.

And still on the Billboard Rhythmic Top 40 chart, Shake it to the Max (Fly) remix continues to make gains. The song inched up from #12 to #10, while over on the Billboard Hot 100 it reaches a new peak at #44. On Billboard’s Global 200 chart the song remains at #11, while holding steady at #9 on Global Excluding US chart.

Over on Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs, Shake it to the Max is firm at #10, it backtracks from #12 to #14 on R&B/Hip Hop Streaming Songs, while stepping up from #15 to #11 on R&B/Hip Hop Airplay. It holds at #10 on Mainstream R&B/Hip Hop Airplay and improves from #5 to #4 on R&B/Hip Hop Digital Song Sales chart.

Additionally, the song has hit the Top 10 in multiple charts globally. In the United Arab Emirates, it moves up to #6, #10 in Austria, #10 in Germany, #4 in Greece, #4 in Italy, #10 in Middle East/South Africa, #2 in Suriname, and #6 in Turkey.

Legend by Bob Marley and the Wailers lead a pack of legacy albums currently riding the Billboard Reggae Albums chart. It clocks 285 non-consecutive weeks at #1, while Dutty Classics, by Sean Paul, which was recently certified platinum in the UK, moves up two places to #2.

Hotshot by Shaggy dips to #3, World on Fire by Stick Figure dips to #4, while Greatest Hits by UB40 is #5, and Wisdom and Set in Stone by Stick Figure are #6 and #7, respectively.

Sean Paul’s Grammy-winning Dutty Rock remains at #8, Exodus by Bob Marley and the Wailers is #9, and Damian “Jr Gong” Marley’s
Welcome to Jamrock re-enters at #10.
