Raddesh Roman extends lead in jockeys’ standings
Raddesh Roman is continuing to make his mark on the jockeys’ standings, and his latest performance was nothing short of impressive. Over the weekend of racing at Caymanas Park, Roman piloted seven winners, further solidifying his position atop the standings.
Saturday, June 28, 2025, was a standout day for Roman, as he scored an incredible five-timer on the 10-race card. His winners included
Queen Zan, trained by Lawrence Freemantle, in the fourth race; Sensational Move, trained by Gary Subratie, in the fifth race; Woman In Love, trained by Peter-John Parsard, in the seventh race; Wayne Princess, trained by Gary Griffiths, in the eighth race; and Money Box, trained by Arnold Rambally Jr, in the 10th and final race.
Roman didn’t let up on Sunday, either, adding two more winners to his tally. Miss Marbella, trained by Peter-John Parsard, was his winner in the third race, and Midnight Runner, trained by Adrian Prince, gave him another win in the fifth race.
With these seven winners, Roman’s tally now stands at 61, a remarkable 32 wins ahead of his closest rival, Shane Ellis. Ellis did have a decent Sunday, though, scoring two wins with I Am Interested and Provident to take his total to 29 winners. Robert Halledeen is sitting third in the standings with 26 winners after his win aboard Girvano on Sunday.
Roman’s dominance in the jockeys’ standings continues to be a talking point, and it will be interesting to see if anyone can challenge him for the top spot moving forward.
