St Mary residents can now access same-day process for driver’s licences
ST MARY, Jamaica — St Mary residents will be able to access same-day processing of driver’s licences following an increase in the number of offices that provide the service.
According to the Tax Administration of Jamaica (TAJ), the Annotto Bay Tax Office will now offer the complete driver’s licence service.
It now joins other offices where full driver’s licensing services are offered including the Kingston Revenue Service Centre; St Andrew Revenue Service Centre; Montego Bay Revenue Service Centre; Spanish Town Tax Office; May Pen Tax Office; St Ann’s Bay Tax Office; Savanna-la-Mar Tax Office; and Port Antonio Tax Office.
In the meantime, the TAJ said the Portmore Tax Office will offer renewal services only at this time.
All other locations can accept driver’s licence applications, which are then sent to one of the printing locations for processing. These will be processed within 20 working days for pickup at the location where it was dropped off.
The TAJ is reminding motorists that they can renew their driver’s licence up to 60 days before expiration.
Additionally, the driver’s licence renewal process can be started online by logging on to TAJ’s website at www.jamaicatax.gov.jm, and making the payment electronically, then completing the F7 Application Form, and submitting it at a TAJ office along with the receipt, one passport size photograph and the expired licence.
Motorists are reminded that they are permitted to operate a vehicle, using the receipt and the expired driver’s licence for up to 60 days.
