Ready to heat up summer
Tamo J says surplus of songs to be unleashed this season
Recording artiste Tamo J says that having spent most of the first half of 2025 putting in work in the studio, he’s ready to close out the year strong.
Indicating that he now has several tracks capable of “running the summer”, the singer says he’s ready to level up musically.
“We’ve been working since January non-stop, and so we have a lot of singles coming out for the summer and the rest of the year. I have a single with Demarco coming, and that ago active man,” he said, highlighting that the Demarco collaboration will be geared towards his female fan base. “The ladies ago love that one for sure. It’s an upbeat party track you can dance to, and we know Demarco have an ear for music that’s just different, so it nah go normal. Listen out for it.”
In addition to the party tracks for the summer, Tamo J says, as an entertainer who also prides himself on embracing consciousness, he also has several reggae tracks to introduce in the coming months.
He also revealed he is currently working on an EP, which he hopes to also release before the year ends.
“It’s Tamo J, so you know we will have the consciousness same way in the mix. We have the track wid Jahmiel, which is a solid track. I always embrace positivity through my music, and we have a whole EP working on right now that will show that. I’m working with Damage Musiq right now to get that done, and once we finalise that we’re good to go. A just pure activity. We’ve been zoned in, and so from now on we’re fully out there, pushing out everything,” he said.
Tamo J was speaking with the Jamaica Observer following a brief showing at the New Rules Festival in Trelawny last Saturday. Expressing gratitude for the platform, he heaped praises on the show’s main act, Alkaline, for affording young talent like himself the chance to showcase themselves to huge audiences.
The entertainer revealed that with an industry with many active players, it becomes extremely difficult for artistes to garner the support necessary to facilitate their rise. He said, despite the narrative surrounding Alkaline, he has remained unashamed of lending support to rising talent.
“I know Alkaline from day one, and it’s not something I speak about publicly a lot, but me proud a him fi see him bring things outta the Caribbean to the different parts of the world. It’s a beautiful thing, and to be a part of this staging, I was blessed,” the singer said. “His journey, with all the backlash he has received, has taught me a lot about focus, and it’s motivating. People will always say what they want, but the music always speaks louder than any critic, and that is the greatest accomplishment.”
