Man shot dead at recording studio in Manchester
MANCHESTER, Jamaica — A man was shot dead at a recording studio in Harmons district near Porus in Manchester on Thursday night.
Police named him as Garnet Morant, a construction worker of Harmons district.
A police report said that about 9:15 pm, Morant was at the recording studio when loud explosions were heard and the police were called. He was subsequently found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body.
Morant was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Three people have been shot by gunmen in Manchester over the past four days. Two of the gunshot victims died.
Statistics from the police show that up to July 5, Manchester recorded 13 murders when compared to 21 for the corresponding period last year.
