WATCH: Port Antonio rodent baiting begins
PORTLAND, Jamaica — The Portland Health Department started the baiting programme at the Errol Flynn Marina on Sunday as promised.
According to Samuel Roberts, public health inspector, responsible for the baiting, the health department is anticipating a successful eradication of rodents in the area, specifically at the ports. He is therefore asking that the baits not be disturbed.
The baits were set in bamboo with two different markings to identify the type of bait set — Rodenthor wax block (red) and Storm wax (blue).
“They are both good for the kill of rats and mice. However, we’re doing somewhat of an experiment to see whether we will have a liking for one over the other at the end of this programme,” Roberts told Observer Online.
