Arnett Gardens seek to cement third place in Women’s Premier League
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Arnett Gardens FC will be seeking to secure third place in the Jamaica Women’s Premier League on Wednesday when they host Federal United in a rescheduled game set for Charlie Smith High School, starting at 3:30 pm.
Arnett Gardens are on 42 points from 18 games, three more than fourth-placed Los Perfectos FC, who have one game to play and only need a point today to ensure third place.
Defending champions Frazsiers Whip lead with 55 points with a game in hand with Cavalier SC, who have completed their schedule, next on 50 points.
Also today, fifth-placed Mile Gully FC will host Real MoBay AFC in another rescheduled game at the Mile Gully Community Centre.
Arnett Gardens and Federal were originally scheduled to be played on July 5th will be seeking to repeat their first round 5-1 win over second-to-last placed Federal United.
Arnett Gardens, who were cruelly denied an upset win over Frazsiers Whip last weekend and had to settle for a 1-1 draw, have only lost twice this season and have scored 75 goals and will go up against a team that has conceded 80 goals.
Shakira Douglas, who has scored 30 goals so far, three behind second-placed Shanel Spence of Cavalier SC, could be seeking to move closer to Frazsiers Whip FC’s Davia Richards who leads with 38 goals.
