1ONEKICKBOSS rises from the west
St James has over the years churned out a number of recording artistes who have gone on to gain fame in local and international music circles. Rising newcomer 1ONEKICKBOSS hopes to become the latest from the parish to make an impact, as he brings a raw authentic and gritty style of energy to the dancehall game.
Born Mark Kirkpatrick, 1ONEKICKBOSS, a talented deejay/singjay who hails from Montego Bay, has been carving out a niche for himself with a sound that is both authentic and evolving.
It was in the ninth grade in high school that he began to take music seriously- writing, recording and performing at events in and around his community and at school functions. Now, he has turned his passion into purpose and, since then, he has grown musically and shown versatility in his lyrical output.
“Music has always been one of my passions and this is my outlet of expressing how I feel, the things that I have been experiencing, and this is how I am able to share my thoughts,” 1ONEKICKBOSS told Observer Online recently.
On July 4, 1ONEKICKBOSS released his debut EP titled New Chapter, a seven-track project which features songs including his latest single Haffi Rich, Cyah Complain, Hold Me Baby, Mulla and Best Time.
Next month he heads to Guyana for a performance alongside Jamal and Tommy Lee Sparta.
