St James chef faces robbery charge
ST JAMES, Jamaica— A St James chef has been charged with robbery with aggravation following an incident on Jimmy Cliff Boulevard in the parish on Tuesday, July 15.
He has been identified as 24-year-old Rayando Riley of Rose Heights in Montego Bay, who is said to also be a barber.
Reports from the Barnett Street Police are that about 3:45 am, Riley, along with an accomplice, approached the complainant at her place of business and told her he was armed with a gun before demanding money.
Riley and the complainant got into a scuffle, during which he punched her multiple times to the face before taking a half carton of cigarettes valued at $6,300.
While fleeing the scene, a phone reportedly fell from a bag which Riley was carrying. The phone was reportedly taken to the police station, and the incident was reported.
Riley called the phone and was told to report to the station to retrieve it. On his arrival at the station, he was positively identified and subsequently arrested and charged.
His court date is being finalised.
