Clive Lynch wins again
Veteran jockey Clive Lynch is back in the saddle and riding strong. After an 11-year hiatus due to family issues, Lynch returned to the sport and has quickly regained his form. His second win aboard Siempre Valiente
on Sunday, July 13, 2025 marked a triumphant return to the track.
Four-year-old American-bred bay filly Siempre Valiente, trained by Omar Williams, made all the running to win a Restricted Allowance V contest over 4 furlongs (800m). She won by a neck ahead of Speed on Wheels (Shane Ellis) and Radam (Raddesh Roman) in a time of 49.0.
Lynch expressed his gratitude and excitement.
“I am feeling good. It is always great to be back. This is the only thing I know,” Lynch told the Jamaica Observer’s The Supreme Racing Guide.
The win wasn’t just a milestone for Lynch but also a testament to his dedication and perseverance.
“I have been away from the game for quite a while due to family issues, and now I am back, I am focused and ready to ride some race horses,” added Lynch, who has so far ridden 497 career winners at Caymanas Park.
Lynch’s sights are set on new horizons, with plans to ride overseas.
“I decided to come back after 11 years because somebody wants me to ride overseas, and so I want to warm up from here and take the opportunity next year,” he revealed. However, he’ll take things one day at a time, eager to see what the future holds.
Reflecting on his career, Lynch said: “Career has been good so far, I have no regrets. I am grateful, and there’s many more to come.”
