Rambally Jr finds form again with Money Box, Florindia
Veteran horse trainer Arnold Rambally Jr is basking in the glory of a well-deserved resurgence in Jamaican racing. After years of navigating the ups and downs of the sport, Rambally has returned to the winners’ enclosure with three impressive victories. His consistent performer, Money Box, and the promising US import, Florindia, have been instrumental in his recent success.
Money Box, a seasoned five-year-old campaigner, has proven his mettle with back-to-back wins. On June 28, he dominated a non-winners-of-two event for horses aged five and up, showcasing his grit and maturity under Raddesh Roman’s expert guidance. Just two weeks later, Money Box stepped up to the non-winners-of-three level and delivered another commanding performance, winning by a comfortable three-length margin.
Meanwhile, Florindia has been making waves with her impressive performances the second time of asking at the races. The four-year-old brown filly won a non-winners-of-four contest over six furlongs by five lengths, stopping the clock at 1:14.2. Roman was once again at the helm, and Rambally was overjoyed with the filly’s dominant display.
“I’m particularly pleased with Florindia,” he said. “She’s a lovely filly who is developing nicely. As long as she stays healthy, I believe she has a lot more to offer.”
Rambally’s recent victories have not only boosted morale but also signalled a renewed sense of optimism for his stable. With eight horses currently in his care, Rambally is committed to building on this momentum.
“It feels great to have achieved these three wins in such a short span. These results have definitely helped to boost the morale and fortunes of the barn,” he said.
