Laden makes Reggae Sumfest return
Dancehall artiste Laden returned to the Reggae Sumfest stage to shine after being away from the ‘Greatest Reggae/Dancehall Show on Earth’ for 13 years.
The deejay, whose given name is O’keefe Aarons, performed hits from his catalogue including 2009 track Time To Shine. Opting for a matching black ensemble lined with silver along the sides, topped with a flannel and a grey tam, the entertainer established dominance echoing, “A my time now, Sumfest! It’s been a while.”
He reeled out other songs like We Remember (which originally featured Stephen ‘Di Genius’ McGregor), Greatness and Come Mek Me Touch.
Laden was released from the Tower Street Adult Correctional Centre on April 21, 2023 after serving almost 30 months of a four-year prison sentence for firearm possession.
In December 2020, Laden was sentenced to four years imprisonment for illegal possession of a firearm and 18 months for illegal possession of ammunition after pleading guilty to the charges. Both sentences had been set to run concurrently so he would serve a maximum of four years. He had been in lock up three months prior to his initial sentencing.
Since the beginning of 2025, he has released new tracks such as Party Sauce, Uno Dos Tres, Money & Gyal, and Rich.
