ACCM to host online forum to examine Christian vote ahead of general election
KINGSTON, Jamaica — With the general election approaching, the Association of Christian Communicators and Media (ACCM) is set to host an online forum on Sunday, July 27 to examine voting trends and impact within the nation’s Christian community.
With declining levels of voter participation in the electoral process, the ACCM hopes that the forum will examine the rate of voter apathy within the community and identify and dissect the issues that matter to this massive and often silent constituency, said Jenni Campbell, the association’s president.
According to the available census, 69 per cent of the Jamaican population identifies as Christian.
Acclaimed Pollster Don Anderson, retired media executive Kay Osborne, and churchman and newspaper columnist Peter Espeut are slated to present convincing arguments on the factors affecting the Christian community and how they matter going into the general election.
The forum will be accessible to members of the public via Zoom and YouTube platforms.
