Flow empowers frontline technicians with new development programme
FLOW Jamaica has officially launched the Flow Technician Pathways Programme, an ambitious professional development and upskilling initiative designed to equip its frontline technicians with the expertise needed to thrive in an increasingly digital world.
The programme is part of Flow’s broader strategy to transform its infrastructure and service delivery as it transitions from copper to advanced fibre-optic technology across Jamaica.
“As technology evolves, we are reimagining how we serve our customers. Our technicians already form the backbone of our service delivery, playing a vital role in customer satisfaction every day across Jamaica,” said Karen Thompson Elliott, senior manager, people business advisor.
“This new programme will equip our team with additional skills, tools, and opportunities to grow their careers while enhancing the service we deliver.”
Thompson Elliott emphasised that the initiative goes beyond professional training but reflects Flow’s deep commitment to investing in its people and empowering its workforce to lead Jamaica’s telecom transformation.
“While the programme focuses on career advancement, it’s also about empowerment — making sure our technicians have the resources, confidence, and capabilities to succeed. We are committed to leading the future of telecommunications in Jamaica through continuous learning, service excellence, and innovative solutions,” she said.
The programme offers a robust mix of learning opportunities, including formal e-learning modules and immersive hands-on workshops centred on customer service excellence and emerging technologies.
In addition, technicians will benefit from mentorship and career coaching sessions designed to support personal and professional growth. Performance incentives will also be offered to motivate and reward team members for their progress and achievements.
Flow Jamaica’s investment in its frontline workforce comes at a critical moment as the company accelerates its network modernisation efforts. By providing technicians with advanced skills and development pathways, Flow aims to enhance service reliability, support faster response times, and deliver a superior customer experience — all while empowering employees to build long-term, fulfilling careers.
