3-y-o child among two feared dead in Clarendon Highway crash
CLARENDON, Jamaica — A three-year-old girl and a 29-year-old are feared dead after the BMW motorcar they were traveling in crashed in a cow pasture on the May Pen to Williamsfield leg of Highway 2000 in Clarendon on Monday afternoon.
Preliminary reports are that about 2:05 pm the child, the man and a woman were travelling in the westbound lane when the driver lost control of the vehicle and it went off road and crashed in the cow pasture. The man and the child were reportedly flung from the vehicle.
The woman has been admitted in hospital.
Statistics from the police show that up to 6:00 am on Monday, 215 road fatalities were recorded on the nation’s roads so far this year, compared to 211 for the corresponding period last year.
