‘Bounce Out’ Family Funday expected to thrill
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Families from all over the island are being encouraged to indulge in a day full of activities on Independence Day at the “Bounce Out” Family Funday.
The event, which is being produced by Nelson’s Signs & Printery, will be held at Turtle River Park in Ocho Rios, St Ann.
“I saw the niche for a real family-orientated event where everyone can participate. It means a lot because I am doing what I love and that’s helping people and putting a smile on everyone’s faces as everyone will benefit in some way. From the vendors, attendees, decorators, clean-up crew, etcetera… just about everyone,” said event organiser Hansley Berry.
Featured attractions and activities will include: Hope Zoo, Dancin’ Dynamites, a water park, a magician, a fire man, steel band, domino tournament, draft tournament, disco room, movie theatre and more. There will also be a $5000 cash giveaway every hour, while the first 50 children will receive school bags.
Meanwhile, Berry noted that he has always been philanthropic and community/family oriented through his deeds.
“I have always sent children to school from primary all the way to university, even overseas. I have built houses for the less fortunate. I have earmarked Great Pond Basic School as our main target. I am going to provide needed materials for school and furniture, a needed face-lift and cover financial debt incurred by the school,” the Ocho Rios, St Ann native who is also a minister of religion said.
He further said that he has been getting positive feedback from possible partners, and is looking to make this a large-scale event each year.
“So far, I am getting a very good reception so I really believe that it can only get better. It looks like one of those staple events on our island, Jamaica. I have engaged Moon Palace Foundation to sponsor 50 residents from the Mustard Seed Community, and they have agreed to transport and pay for their entry and provide food and refreshments for them. Children with disabilities will only pay half price to enter and enjoy over 50 rides all day for free,” Berry continued.
