JN Financial Academy summer camp targets teens, young adults
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The JN Financial Academy is hosting its summer camp for the fourth year with a renewed focus on empowering the next generation of entrepreneurs and wealth creators.
Under the theme ‘Building the Future Business Mogul – Diversifying Income for Wealth Creation’, the camp will be held virtually from July 28 to 30 from 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm.
Claudine Allen, general manager of the JN Foundation, said the summer camp will blend the essentials of financial literacy with real-life stories from successful Jamaicans who are creating multiple income streams and businesses.
“This year’s line-up of speakers includes dynamic professionals from a variety of fields, each sharing their journey of financial empowerment,” she shared.
The speakers include Terron Dewar, digital marketing strategist and chief executive officer of 876DNA, who will lead a conversation on developing a multi-income business mindset.
Joan McKenzie, actress, producer and educator, will explore how teens and young adults can bank on cultural capital, training and opportunity for success.
Dr Anthony Claire, formerly a medical doctor and now director at Pizza Please, will also be among the speakers. He will engage the young people on the art of career pivoting and diversifying their professional paths, while Shanoy Harris Coombs, chief executive officer of Infinity Integrated Marketing Communications, will present on branding with culture for global success under the theme ‘Global Goals, Local Roots’.
Allen said the camp plays a critical role in helping young people build a strong financial mindset early.
“This year, we wanted to go beyond the basics and highlight how Jamaicans are turning ideas, talents, and even challenges into multiple sources of income. It’s about showing our young people that they too can take ownership of their financial future and create lasting wealth,” she said.
“The camp promises a powerful mix of education and inspiration, equipping youth with practical tools to chart their own path to financial independence and long-term success,” added Allen.
