Moliy grateful for support
...happy with Sumfest stage debut
With her breakout single Shake It To The Max continuing its climb on global charts, international recording artiste Moliy’s meteoric rise in the music industry seems unending.
The entertainer, who made her official stage début in Jamaica at last Thursday’s Reggae Sumfest Global Fete, says that although she’s beginning to settle into her success, the kind of outpouring of support she’s been receiving over the past year has far exceeded her expectations.
“It’s cool to watch how this song has just been rising. I’ve been having the time of my life just ‘shaking it to the max’ all over the world, and I’m just so grateful for all I’ve accomplished at this stage of my career,” she told the Jamaica Observer in a post-performance interview at Reggae Sumfest. “I don’t know if I expected everything that has been happening, and it’s just been amazing. I mean, as an artiste, you have to expect good things to happen when you put out your songs because manifestation is powerful. Still, every time the song gets to another level it takes my breath away.”
Moliy says she has been enjoying her road to success and says, now that she has the world’s attention, she promises to make the best of it.
The entertainer has been making appearances at huge global events, including the BET Music Awards, Essence Fest, Wireless Fest, and social media cameos with R&B superstar Ciara. The Ghanaian singer says she is looking forward to even more global appearances as she remains booked and busy.
“I hope to drop a couple of other singles this year that will hopefully end up being bangers as well. I have more world stages to make my entrance and introduce myself to even more people. It’s just work and more work for me. Shake It To The Max did something truly spectacular for my career, and I just wanna be able to continue going up from here,” she said.
Moliy, who now has remixes of the mega-hit single with the likes of Vybz Kartel and Sean Paul, said she’s immensely grateful to Jamaica for amplifying the success of her breakout single.
“Jamaica has a special place in my heart. Y’all have been shaking things up with me since the beginning, and I’m so grateful. Big shout-out to Skillibeng, Shenseea, Vybz Kartel, Sean Paul, and all my fans in Jamaica. I love you guys,” she said.
