Optimum Jamaica joins JMEA
OPTIMUM Jamaica, the local arm of US-based telecommunications provider Altice USA, has secured membership with the Jamaica Manufacturers and Exporters Association (JMEA).
Altice USA, one of the largest broadband communications and video services providers in the United States, delivers broadband, video, mobile, proprietary content, and advertising services to almost five million residential and business customers across 21 states under its Optimum brand.
Optimum Jamaica’s induction into the JMEA follows its recent membership in the Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica (PSOJ) in May, reflecting its deepening engagement with the local business landscape.
Operating as a captive contact centre in Kingston, Optimum Jamaica provides high-quality customer support for telecommunications services in the US. As Jamaica advances its digital transformation and focus on service excellence, the company’s captive site model is positioned to address key sector challenges including employee retention, quality assurance, and global competitiveness.
With its new JMEA membership the company aims to further solidify its position as a responsible corporate citizen dedicated to building business networks, generating employment, and supporting long-term growth for Jamaican enterprises.
“We are proud to join the JMEA, an organisation that shares our vision for economic empowerment and local development,” said Leon Davis, senior director and site general manager at Optimum Jamaica.
“Our partnership reflects Optimum’s continued investment in Jamaica, not only as a hub of skilled talent but as a thriving contributor to global business. Through the JMEA we look forward to working alongside other Jamaican businesses to drive innovation, collaboration, and long-term impact,” he added.
Focused on delivering customer service excellence while promoting its telecommunication products, the Jamaican operation seeks to leverage local talent to enhance brand loyalty, drive satisfaction and create meaningful job opportunities.
Newly elected JMEA President Kathryn Silvera, welcoming the company, emphasised the importance of strategic partnerships in advancing the organisation’s mission.
“We are pleased to welcome Optimum Jamaica as an associate member to the JMEA. Their presence highlights the growing importance of Jamaica’s service sector in driving economic activity and job creation. As a major employer leveraging Jamaican talent to serve international markets, Optimum represents exactly the kind of forward-thinking, globally connected operation that aligns with our vision for a diversified and resilient economy,” she said.
As a service provider deeply embedded in Jamaica’s workforce and economy, Optimum has also indicated its pride in contributing to and benefiting from the collaborative ecosystem cultivated by the JMEA.
The JMEA, advancing its mission to strengthen member companies through representation, services and support, remains committed to leveraging networks to ensure the manufacturing and export sectors create sustainable growth and quality jobs. Among the association’s key advocacy areas are championing tax reforms, strengthening linkages across sectors, and securing access to finance at single-digit rates, alongside numerous other benefits for its membership base of nearly 600.
“We look forward to supporting their continued growth and collaboration within the JMEA network,” Silvera added.
