Frazsiers Whip and Cavalier take big leads in JWPL semis
Defending champions Frazsiers Whip FC and Cavalier SC took commanding leads after their first leg semi-finals against Los Perfectos FC and Arnett Gardens FC respectively on Saturday, at Constant Spring field.
Frazsiers Whip FC easily beat Los Perfectos 5-0, their third win over the Manchester-based club this season, while Cavalier SC surprised Arnett Gardens FC 4-0 in the second game.
The return leg semi-finals are set for this Saturday with the winners on aggregate qualifying for the final set for August 9th at Jamaica College.
In the first game on Saturday, Davia Richards scored a double to lead Frazsiers Whip FC, netting in the 10th and 27th minutes as they led 2-0 at half time. Shaneil Buckley made it 3-0 in the 47th minute with her 12th goal of the season, while Natoya Atkinson added a goal in the 67th minute and Riquanna Richards scored the fifth in the 85th minute.
Shanel Spence also got a brace as Cavalier SC shocked Arnett Gardens FC after the teams had drawn both games they had played against each other in the regular season.
Kersha Thomas put Cavalier SC in to the lead as early as the fifth minute but Spence put the game out of reach of Arnett Gardens FC when she scored twice early in the second half, in the 49th and 51st minutes before Tatyana Black added the fourth in the 84th minute.
