Bin Di Rich encourages success through teamwork
After the death of his son, former gospel artiste Pastor Son changed his name to Bin Di Rich, because of what he says was the lack of support that he received from the church.
Now, three years later, Bin Di Rich has crafted a sound that is resonating with dancehall fans. He recently released the song Call of Duty, in which he encourages success through teamwork.
“I wanted to find a song that not only has a feel-good vibe, but something that can be used to motivate others. Call of Duty is deeper than just melody and words. I am encouraging success through teamwork because success is so much more fun when the whole team wins,” Bin Di Rich told Observer Online on Monday.
Bin Di Rich, who is from St Mary and now resides in the United States, has had a very interesting musical journey.
He started out in music as a gospel artiste but later opted to convert to dancehall after the tragic passing of his beloved son. According to the artiste, he was hurt by the lack of support from the church and what he describes as the hypocrisy within the organisation but says he maintains a strong relationship with God.
“At no point did I turn my back on God, and I would never do that. I chose a different path in music, but my faith has not changed. I am a complete entertainer and as such I am simply showcasing my range and providing quality music to my fans,” Bin Di Rich reasoned.
Born the son of two pastors, Bin Di Rich grew up heavily influenced by the church and the input of his father, whom he credits for passing on lessons of discipline, consistency and hard work.
He was raised in the communities of Palmetto Grove and Rock River in St Mary.
