WATCH: JLP distributes ‘record achievements’ booklet in election campaign
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Leader of the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP), Andrew Holness, along with several senior party members, were out in full force on Wednesday distributing booklets across St Andrew highlighting the party’s “record achievements”.
The team made stops in areas including Half-Way-Tree, Crossroads and Liguanea as part of a wider campaign push ahead of the upcoming constitutionally due general election.
Speaking with Observer Online in Liguanea, senior JLP representative Fayval Williams said, “We are handing out [booklets] as they stop at the stoplight and wishing them a good day. We would love for people to have this copy of our record achievements so that they can go through it on their own time.”
Williams went on to cite some of the achievements included in it, noting the “record low unemployment rate at 3.3 per cent, low inflation rate and significant decline in the poverty rate in Jamaica”.
She said the roughly 50-page booklet was geared toward combating any misinformation during the campaign season.
“So when they hear propaganda, they will know that what’s really here is the truth about this administration, the Jamaica Labour Party administration,” Williams said.
