Jdart gaining traction with Hula Hoop
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Jdart wears many hats. He’s a music producer, an events promoter and a recording artiste.
Residing between Kingston and Japan, Jdart promotes several events in Japan where he pushes Jamaican culture and music.
His label, Cutsleeve Records, works with several emerging acts. One of the label’s most recent releases is Hula Hoop, a song that Jdart recorded.
“I am very excited about the prospects of this song. It has been gaining traction locally and overseas, and this has been very encouraging. People like the flow and the video suh di ting a gwaan enuh. I must say respect to the fans and the support that the song has been getting at radio,” Jdart told Observer Online recently.
According to Jdart, Hula Hoop is just a taste of what he has to come out of the musical lab.
“I am a melting pot of musical styles,” he said with a laugh. “All of what I am doing will be put on display soon, because there is so much music that we have coming, not only from me as an artiste but from the other artistes on the label.”
Jdart added, “I am a versatile artiste, so despite the fact that many people know and love me for the motivational songs, I also cater to the ladies, the street, and social commentary.”
My Year and Born Hustler with dancehall artiste 10Tik are just a few of the songs he has released since the start of the year.
