Kingston carpenter charged with murder
KINGSTON, Jamaica — A Kingston carpenter has been slapped with multiple charges in connection with the shooting death of a man earlier this month.
Forty-four-year-old Dwayne Forbes, otherwise called ‘Creg’, of a Little King Street address in Kingston 14, has been charged with murder, possession of a prohibited weapon, unauthorised possession of ammunition and using a firearm to commit a felony following the death of 29-year-old Neco Cole of Christopher Road, Kingston 11.
According to the Denham Town Police, the incident occurred around 5:20 am on Saturday July 19 when Forbes and several other men allegedly went to Cole’s residence and instructed him to open the door. Upon gaining entry, the men reportedly opened fire, hitting Cole in the upper body before fleeing the scene.
The police were called and Cole was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Forbes later surrendered to authorities and was charged after a question and answer session. He was also implicated in a witness statement, police said.
His court date is being finalised
