Pack Plays looks a safe bet in BGLC Trophy
A field of runners is down to compete in tomorrow’s $1.7-million Betting, Gaming, and Lotteries Commission (BGLC) Trophy in what is expected to an exciting contest. The Open Allowance contest for three-year-olds and upward will run over 5 1/2 furlongs (1,100m).
Below is the analysis of each runner and their chances of winning.
1. UNBELIEVABLE FORCE (USA): (4 dk b/br f by McCraken – Debit or Credit) – Capable sort who was beaten out-of-sight by Legacy Isle over the straight course at 5 furlongs (1,000m) on May 31. Unbelievable Force expected to run a much better race here and could get into the mix.
2. CHOCOMO (USA): (4 b c by Backtalk – Chocolate Chippi) – His best hope is for a minor placing.
3. FEARLESS SOUL: (5 ch h by Soul Warrior – Rumble) – Is going to be left behind in this one.
4. CALIFORNIA CROWN: (4 ch c by Hedge Fund – Dream Big) – Not expected to win, but should make his presence felt.
5. MOJITO: (5 gr h by Savoy Stomp – Fiftyshadesofray) – Talented but inconsistent. Could turn his fortunes around and run a good race. (Note: Figure-8 on).
6. MAHOGANY: (8 ch g by Sensational Slam – Mete-Orite) – Still packs a good punch despite going up in age. One win from four starts this season. Mahogany should be around when the race is being decided.
7. PACK PLAYS (USA): (4 dk b/br c by Stay Thirsty – Standard Deal) – Two wins from six starts this season.
Pack Plays finished a good third behind Wall Street Trader and Legacy Isle over 6 furlongs (1,200m) on July 12. Pack Plays looks a safe bet to win with neither of those horses in the race.
8. CHAMPION BUBBLER (USA): (6 b m by Tapiture – Countess Clare) – Cannot win this.
9. MONEY MARKET (5 b h by Successful Native – Soca Dancer) – A winner on last start, but not expected to repeat.
