Frazsiers Whip, Cavalier set up clash in JWPL final
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Defending champions Frazsiers Whip FC and Cavalier SC advanced to next weekend’s final of the Jamaica Women’s Premier League after completing semi-final wins over Los Perfectos FC and Arnett Gardens in the return leg games played at Constant Spring on Saturday.
Frazsiers Whip FC held off Los Perfectos FC 2-1 in the second game of the double- header for a seven-goal aggregate win after Cavalier SC had booked their place with a 4-0 aggregate win after playing out a 0-0 draw against Arnett Gardens FC in the first game.
After winning the first leg game 5-0 last weekend, Frazsiers Whip FC led 1-0 at half time in their game after Destiny Powell had opened the scoring in the 27th minute.
Davia Richards enhanced her claim as the Most Valuable Player through the season after adding a second goal, her 43rd of the season, scoring in the 77th minute.
Los Perfectos FC pulled a goal back in time added at the end of the second half when Venecia Reid converted a penalty.
The third-place play-offs between the two semi-final losers and the final will be played on August 9 at Jamaica College.
