Olympians Selvon, Alfred launch children’s colouring books
PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad (CMC) — Three-time Trinidad and Tobago Olympian Kai Selvon has teamed up with St Lucian sprint sensation Julien Alfred, the reigning Olympic 100m gold and 200m silver medalist, to launch
Champion Me, a groundbreaking children’s colouring book designed to inspire, educate, and empower young minds.
The announcement came during Selvon’s interview with Andre Errol Baptiste on Isports on i95.5fm on Thursday, where she revealed the unique vision behind the project.
“It’s not just a colouring book, it’s a premium colouring book which features the Olympic champion of 2024, Julien Alfred, and me, a three-time Olympian,” Selvon says. “That’s where the premium comes from. It’s educational and motivating, teaching kids about sports, wellness, and self-belief. There are sports activities, mindset-building exercises, and of course, the fun of colouring. It’s holistic, and it is bringing health and physical education in a fun and engaging way.”
Selvon, the former 200m runner, says Champion Me is more than just pages to fill with colour, it’s a celebration of representation, confidence, and dreams.
“What if your child saw themselves in a book,” she asks. “Too often, our kids flip through pages and never see their skin, their curls, their dreams, but that changes now.”
The book, which is now available on Amazon.com, is packed with 10 sports for children to explore, along with motivational messages and activities to build resilience.
The material also features cultural pride and confidence-boosting content, which is perfect for classrooms, gifts, and nurturing future champions.
