The Hi-Pro Denbigh Gospel Extravaganza is scheduled to be the entertainment climax for the ongoing annual agriculture and food show in Clarendon
This year’s concert will feature performances by Carlene Davis, Levy’s Heritage backed by The Right Band, George Nooks, Sista Patt, Carey Sayles, Jodian Pantry, and Orville Sutherland.
Emcee duties will be handled by veteran Tommy Cowan, while the word will be brought by Rev Steve Hepburn.
Organisers are promising an eventful production.
“Planning for this year’s Hi-Pro Denbigh Gospel Extravaganza has been great,” Antonette Bromfield, marketing manager at Hi-Pro, told the Jamaica Observer. “We have been working closely with our long-time event partner, Glory Music, to ensure that every element, from staging to the artiste line-up is crafted with excellence and intention…. [T]his year’s main event will be unforgettable.”
She further noted that Hi-Pro has remained committed to partnering with the annual expo.
“Hi-Pro has served as the title sponsor of the Denbigh Gospel Extravaganza for over 15 years. What began as a simple praise-filled evening has grown into one of the most-anticipated events on the Denbigh calendar… For us, it is more than a sponsorship, it is a ministry and a meaningful investment in the spiritual well-being of our farming communities and families across Jamaica,” she said.
“The Hi-Pro Denbigh Gospel Extravaganza offers the perfect close to the three-day agri showcase, which is simply wholesome, uplifting, and it is free to the anyone on the show grounds. So, whether you are a long-time gospel lover or just in need of a spiritual recharge, this is the place to be,” Bromfield shared.
Meanwhile, Tommy Cowan, director of Glory Music, is especially pleased with the longevity of the event and is excited about the massive showcase of Clarendon talent.
“In the mixture [of artistes] there is a feature of Clarendon which entails The Reverend, Orville Sutherland, Carlene Davis, Jodian Pantry; it shows a combination of community in which the staging is taking place. We hope that the seeds that are planted there will bear fruits,” Cowan told the Observer.
He added: “You [also] have the likes of George Nooks, and George is very well respected and loved with his songs God Is Standing By and Through It All. There is Sista Patt with The Lord Is My Shepherd, and they [patrons] are always looking forward to that. And, of course, Levy’s Heritage who is also from a traditional family; they’re very youthful and very effective, especially among the youth. So, we look forward to that.”
